New App May Be The Future In Reuniting You With Your Lost Dog

A new app has just hit the market and may indeed be the future in reuniting you with your dog if he or she ever becomes lost.

NOSEiD, an app created by Iams, a global leader in pet food manufacturing, aims to help pet owners reunite with their lost dogs in a revolutionary new way. NOSEiD allows pet owners to digitally capture their dog’s unique nose print, which can then act as a highly specific means of personal canine identification, much like a person’s finger print.

Through the NOSEiD smartphone application now available for both Apple and Android users, you are able to easily scan your dog’s unique nose pattern into an ever-growing online network. Upload additional photos, a description of your pet, personal contact information, and you’re all set!

In the event that your dog goes missing, you are able to flag your dog as lost, which would instantly and automatically alert other NOSEiD app users in your area.

If a lost dog is found, users are able to scan the lost pooch’s nose to see if a match can be found within the app’s database. If a match occurs, the lost dog’s owners are able to be contacted directly through the app, and their dog returned to them safe and sound.

The founders of the app claim that nearly 10 million pets go missing every year in the United States, with only 3-5% of pets being microchipped. Furthermore, it is estimated that 1 in 3 pets will go missing during their lifetime.

Clearly, this exciting new app has the potential to have an immensely positive impact on reuniting lost pets with their owners for years to come.

Currently, the app is being tested and only available in Nashville, Tennessee. However, the app is planned to be made available in many other major cities very soon. Until then, check out the app’s official website for more details.
